MEET KYRA
Certified trainer and facilitator

Hi, I’m Kyra (she/her)! I’m the founder of Tactile Edge Training. After a lot of schooling, more than a decade as a first responder, and some bad burnouts, I finally tried therapy. I wanted to know why my relationships kept failing, why my body didn’t seem to heal anymore, why I was so high-strung. And I failed miserably because I couldn’t answer one critical question: “How do you feel?”
It had never mattered before, to me or anyone else. The numbness and discipline cultivated to succeed in rescue and competition were now working against me. Even if I wanted to, I didn’t have the words to describe the mess inside. But where can people go to learn how to feel??? Nowhere…till now.
Through Tactile Edge, I can help you develop essential body awareness and communication skills to figure out what you need, set/protect boundaries, and build a life that you don’t need to escape from. And this can be done without the shame of being bad at something, the guilt of hurting others as you learn, or the humiliation of being an adult who didn’t realize they were missing a critically important life skill.
My unique approach combines principles and exercises from martial arts, nonviolent communication, traditional Thai massage, consent education, and personal training to get participants interacting in a fun, connected, and consensual way.
Tactile Edge is a place for everything we can’t do in talk therapy: we sweat, we play, we lean into aggression, and we explore a range of touch. All training is done in person, and all exercises are optional to meet you where you’re at that day.
Sound interesting? Book an introductory call, show up for a group run, or come out to a workshop and start spiralling up instead of down. Because your safety is important, and your experience matters.
